Anant, PATCH and Quickly Pro: these are the winners of the third edition of BioUpper, that ended on Thursday, January 17, at the Ministry of Economic Development. Each winning team received a voucher for € 180,000 to be invested in the development of their idea.
The BioUpper Call for Ideas closed on June 17, 2018. The BioUpper third edition received 158 applications for the Call For Ideas and 52 for the Call for Scale.
The three winning teams will have access to the go-to-market phase, a customized path that will prepare them for the final BioUpper event: the presentation of their company to potential investors during the Investor Day, planned for May 2019.
The Call for Scale closed last October. The 4 selected initiatives Brain Control, SurgiQ, D-eye and Imaginary attended the Match Making Day and promoted their projects with relevant stakeholders.
BioUpper is the first Italian Life Sciences platform that supports the best entrepreneurial projects through a structured approach providing access to trainings, resources and relationships within the innovation ecosystem and the medical/scientific sector. The goal of BioUpper is to support the best projects in order to transform them into actual business initiatives, thus actively contributing to the economic development of the Country and promoting youth employment.
BioUpper is an initiative of Novartis, Fondazione Cariplo and IBM Italia.
